MINISTRIES

DEACONS AND STEWARDS

Members of the Ministry of Deacons and Stewards are appointed by the Pastor to assist in serving the congregation. Deacons help to care for the physical plant, visit the sick and serve the bereaved. They have the duty of preparing and issuing Holy Communion and the ordinances of Holy Baptism.

Deacons serve directly from the Pastor’s office and are individually involved in a wide variety of church ministries. Stewards serve to oversee the finances of the church and provide a proper and accurate accounting of income and expenses as well as the disposition of the physical plant.

BROTHERHOOD-MEN’S MINISTRY

Our mission is to unite men in Christ while providing them with the resources to develop godly character which will equip them to influence their world for Christ. We are dedicated to mentoring younger men in giving them structure, direction, and hope for their lives. We are the core committee that surrounds the planning and presentation for all Men’s Day activities. The Men’s Chorus serves as a branch of this ministry. As said in 1 John 1:7, if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

USHERS’ MINISTRY

The Ushers’ Ministry’s task is to serve in the House of the Lord with pure hearts and clean spirits seeking first to do the Will of the Father as well as to follow the directions and abide by the wishes of the Pastor. Its purpose and function is to meet, greet and seat our members, visitors and friends as they enter the Sanctuary, as well as to oversee the entire worship service in general.

The Ushers’ Ministry consists of an adult ministry – The Sanctuary Usher Ministry. We have a Youth Ushers Ministry that serves on the designated Sundays of the month and is under the leadership of the Sanctuary Usher Ministry.

“For a Day in thy court is better than a thousand, I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the Tent of Wickedness.” -Psalms 84:10.
